Smart Financial Planning

The older I get I realize the need for planning for the future. I mean we've all been there. Things seem to happen that we unexpect like the refrigerator or washer stops working. Not to mention those times when cars start acting up. The question is are we prepared for those times?

Today I want to share a few smart financial planning ideas that can help prepare us for those times.

Appliance Warranties

I know that for some the idea of purchasing used appliances seems like a pretty good idea especially if they are in good working condition........but here's the thing. Who knows how long it will be before the used appliances stop working? This is a gamble I don't advise taking because when they stop working, back to square one. So here's my advice - Do your research and find good new appliances. A few things to look for are good reviews and feedback online from prior customers. The appliances may be paid for on time or credit. If using a credit card is the only option, make sure each month that more money than required is paid. This way, very little interest will be owed and the time owed on appliances will be shortened. The best news is that you'll have a warranty. Sometimes spending more ahead will save later!

Smart Auto Planning

We've all been there. Cars just aren't built to last! Have you ever been in a position where your car broke down and you did not have money for repairs? I want to share a few smart things we all can do to help us plan for these times. Most of us have heard it said that "by failing to prepare, we prepare to fail". One simple thing we can do is preventative maintenance. This can be done by making sure we have normal fluid, oil is changed, as well as a full tune tune-up. This should be done as often as required. Trying to skip or prolong this will cost more in the long run.

Get Roadside Assistance

I don't even want to think about how much tow trucks charge. One of the best things I could have done for myself is got auto insurance with roadside assistance. This means that if your car breaks down, insurance will cover the cost of having your car towed.
What I would like for anyone reading this to do is start planning for what could and will happen. This will save, time money, and hassle.

We'll I really hope this helps you with financial planning.

Coming Soon! I will be sharing with all what I think about college funds and planning for our children's education.
