1. One of the first things I suggest doing is make sure you have at least four to five clearly visible signs on busy corners near your home or yard sale location. One or two signs is just not enough. Make sure the signs point people in the direction of the sale.
2. So that you won't have to keep telling people how much items are, add price tags to each item. Tags can be made with tape and paper or visit your local dollar store to purchase premade tags.
3. It is very important to have the correct start and ending time on signs.
4. How many times have I seen a yard sale sign and the sign had no street address on it. I mean this is a sure way to miss out on customers.
Bonus Tips
1. Make sure you check the weather forecast.
2. Wait until about 6 am to put your signs up on the day of the sale. This way the signs have a better chance of not getting wet due to rain or falling down.
3. Preplanning is always good. About a month before the sale, see if there are free classified ads that will allow you to advertise your sale.
4. Do a Google search to find free printable yard sale signs.
