A Mistake People Make Using Credit Cards

 

Are you using credit cards to work on increasing your credit score? Are you making purchases and paying them off quickly thinking that this will increase your score tremendously? Though having, using, and paying off accounts can help a little, I want to show you how to maximize the use of credit cards to increase your score. 

Don't Pay Off Your Debt

Making purchases and paying them off quickly is not the thing to do. Why?? Creditors and lendors want to see that card users are responsible over periods of time in terms of paying bills. In their eyes this shows signs of credibility. You may be saying to yourself that if I don't pay them right off I will pay more interest over time. This is true but the ultimate goal is to increase your credit score. You want to increase your score so that you can purchase what you want like a car or home without hastle.

Good Credit Is Worth It

Did you know that the lower your credit 

score, the more you will pay in interest when you finance a car or pay a mortgage. This also applies to other things you may want to buy. So it's worth it in the longrun. It's safe to say that what you pay will even out. You will either pay more now or later. When you have good credit you will even receive rewards from certain companies.

How to Increase Your Credit Score

So here's what you need to do to increase your score using credit cards. Whatever you do, please don't max your credit cards by making purchases up to your limit. Make purchases as small as you can, then only pay what credit card companies require you to pay each month. Make certain you do not miss any payments or pay late. Lastly, when you are finished paying off your bill, make another purchase quickly and do the same thing. You want to never have credit cards that you are not using. Please only use the cards if you (CAN AFFORD) to pay the bill each month.

If you are thinking that credit card companies are there to only see us in debt, change your mindset. The debt you are paying now is only helping you to increase your score. Many that have great credit scores are able to purchase cars without paying a downpayment. Some that try to rent homes or apartments end up paying more because of their low credit score. They are charged more for deposits because of credit status or asked to use a co-signer. 

Think of it like this...I am working on increasing my credit score so that I can live and be financially stable.

I am so excited today to be sharing with you all how you can get free and discounted items from a site called Rebaid. If it sounds too good to be true it is. So the first thing to do is create an account then take a look at current offers on products that they have. You will find that some of the items qualify for 100% cashback rebates.

How Rebaid works:

The site is affiliated with Amazon. So after choosing products that you like, they will redirect you to Amazon to place your order. There is a limit to how many items that you can purchase so make sure you (read all the fine print.) One other thing to do is to keep all of your receipts, order numers, etc...so that you can receive your rebates. The site will ask you how you want to receive your rebate - either by a paper check or direct deposit. 

Very Important:

In order to qualify for direct deposit (within 3 days) you will first need to place two orders. So it's only after you receive your first two paper checks that you will qualify for direct deposit. Checks may take up to 5 weeks to be delivered. What I love about this rebate site is that they have many products to choose from and many users that have given great reviews about the site.

I have something that I want to share with you all! I was referred to the app Fetch Rewards by someone that I know. I was a little apprehensive about it since i've tried a few of the rewards apps. It's very similar to Ibotta but works on a point system. I was amazed that I started earning points as soon as I signed up. The way Fetch Rewards works is when you earn enough points, you can make money and earn gift cards. One thing I notice that is different from Ibotta is that even if they don't have items that you purchase on shopping trips on their qualified rewards list, you can still earn points. For example yesterday I did some shopping at Publix and today Kroger. Even though I did not earn any points for items listed on the app, I could still scan my receipts and earn points. 

Not only can I earn points from grocery shopping but from eating out and from many other stores. Even online shoppers can earn points. If you are patient and would like to earn some extra cash, this is an easy way to make money. Ask your family members to give you their receipts if they don't want them or are not signed up for Fetch Rewards. Try to get family and friends to signup though because when they do you both get signup bonuses. 

Tip: Remember to stay consistent, plan shopping trips ahead, and don't forget to scan all your receipts.

 Hi there! I hope you guys are doing well today. For those that do not know me my name is Victoria. I started this blog yeeeears ago helping people with saving and making money. Oh My! I am sure it's been a year since I last wrote a blog post here. I've been busy writing and consulting clients but I missed helping people with wealth building. I miss sharing tips on ways to save money and earn money. Today I have something I want to share with you. Lean Cuisine Means for .80 Cents a Piece! How????

Happy New Year Everyone! I know it's been a while since my last frugal blog post but the truth is that i've been so busy working that I haven't had much time to blog or save money. I must admit that I miss blogging. I haven't even had much time to use my Ibotta App either. I want all to know that as of today I hit my $100 earnings level using Ibotta. Now what if I used it more frequently? I plan on finding out.  However with a daughter in college and rising expenses and goals, I need to up my saving goals. It's a new year and I want to inform you that the queen of couponing is back!! 

I want to share with you all how I only paid about .80 cent each for Lean Cuisine meals. Today before I went to Kroger I noticed that Ibotta was giving back $7 on the purchase of 7 meals. Since $7 seemed like a great cashback deal to me, I purchased the meals not knowing that if I was a Kroger Plus member that Kroger would take off an additional .50 each at the register. So there you have it, pay attention to those double deals. Remember you can use this app combined with coupons for even more savings.
